Curriculum Overview
At St Wilfrid’s Sixth Form College, our approach to A-Level study empowers students to “live life to the full”, inspired by our foundation verse from John 10:10.
Academic success is important – but it’s not the whole story. We believe Sixth Form is a time to grow intellectually, personally, and spiritually. Our A-Level curriculum is grounded in our ACE principles, ensuring that students are well prepared for university, apprenticeships, and life beyond education.
Our Level 3 curriculum is:
- Ambitious and academic – designed to challenge students, broaden their thinking, and prepare them for high-level study and careers;
- Crafted expertly – so that learning is coherent, purposeful and builds systematically over time;
- Evidence-informed – delivered by passionate subject experts who use research and theory to inform excellent teaching.
- These academic foundations are rooted in our Four Core Values, which shape how we learn and grow together:
- Learn Wisdom – by engaging critically with complex ideas and developing independent thought;
- Inspire Hope – through aspirational teaching that opens doors to exciting futures;
- Value Love – by creating a supportive, respectful learning environment where all can thrive;
- Experience Koinonia – by learning in community, where collaboration, inclusion and shared purpose are central.
A-Level study at St Wilfrid’s is more than a pathway to results – it is preparation for a fulfilling life, grounded in purpose and shaped by faith. Our mission, rooted in scripture and tradition, supports students to achieve academically while growing in character and confidence.
